A second "Carmen" necklace was finished today and let me tell you, this one put up a fight up right from the start. When I was cutting the copper, I broke many blades, then the blade would have a mind of its own and do not follow my design cutting diagonally across from where I wanted it to go. When I finally was able to cut it, then came the filing and sanding and again it was giving me a hard time. Files were making that squeaking cry with every grind. The thing is that this "Carmen" was planned as a purple flower but I after many trials, and color after color, I found out it wanted to be red. Naive me, this "Carmen" is temperamental, intense, raw... just like Bizet's Carmen... so red it is.

Purple "Carmen" Turned Red
